Guest Demonstration

   What a pleasure to put together a simple assembly recipe with grandchildren at holiday time.  Interest in this cheesy conglomeration didn't flag at all as Connor and Rose anticipated enjoying a recipe ready to eat immediately upon completion.

   We aim to take advantage of the hospitality at their Brown County, Indiana Oak Haven Bed & Breakfast  often!                            

AMOUNT: About 3 1/2 Cups

Step #1 Thoroughly blend together in electric mixer or by hand; chill thoroughly:

   8 oz package cream cheese, softened
   2 cups (1/2 lb) grated cheddar cheese
   1/2 cup finely chopped pecans 
      (chop in blender or on cutting board by hand)
   1 small onion, drained and chopped, optional
   2 teaspoons soy sauce (Kikkoman Lite brand for less sodium) 

Step #2 Place parsley springs in blender (or chop on cutting board) to make:

  1 cup finely chopped parsley

Step #3  Roll cheese mixture into a ball or log and roll it in the parsley. Chill until ready to serve.

Assemble Ingredients & Equipment
Grate Cheddar Cheese
Chop Pecans
Chop Onions
Chop Pimiento or Red Pepper

 

 

Step #1 Thoroughly blend together in electric mixer 

Add Cream Cheese
Add Grated Cheddar Cheese
Add Onion
Add Pimimento or Red Pepper
Add Soy Sauce
Add Pecans
Mix

OPTIONAL: (Not in book recipe) Add 8 oz (medium sized serving) cooked salmon shredded for special flavor.

 

Step #2 Place parsley sprigs in blender
or chop on cutting board.

Step #3  Roll cheese mixture into a ball or log and roll it in the parsley

Tip: Cheese will not stick to hands that are slightly wetted
