When
Ann
Chandler's mother, a WWII war bride, came to America, the family embarked on an immediate, intense immersion into a
new language and culture. They left the old world behind and
successfully assimilated into the new. Consequently,
Ann's mother did not pass on old country recipes to her daughter.
Ann, however, has ventured back into her
heritage, visited relatives in Germany, and researched
authentic German fare. She has generously supplied us with three (actually
four when you add the gravy) recipes along with a salad that combine for
a complete repast that will quicken your heart as it warms you up with
Nordic nostalgia.
