SALADMASTER COOKWARE
is very expensive, very durable, multi-ply stainless steel aluminum core water-less cookware that we can't live without. Yes, there are some things more valuable and useful than gold, diamonds, or expensive automobiles. We've owned two sets of these pots and pans. Gave the first (well-used) set to our daughter as an heirloom wedding present. We expect it to be passed on to our great grandchildren. You can burn meals to a charcoal crisp (that happens to us when we take business calls during food prep times) scour the pot out (no melt down!) and polish it up shinny. View our 15+ year old set (purchased used).  A 1 quart sauce pan retails at $368  at Saladmaster's home demonstration parties.  But sometimes you can get a 17 or 21 piece demonstration set from $1,100 to $1,400  (new $2,270 to $2,630). You can also check for used sets on e-bay. They are practically indestructible, so a used set is just as useful for cooking as a new one.

Concerned moms have formed Healthy Families International, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to impact families with healthy lifestyle education.  To Think About . . .

Vishal Mangalwadi  We were privileged to attend the commissioning of Vishal Mangalwadi's new book, The Book of the Mellennium, now titled Does the Sun Set in the West?  at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach California. People have become so accustomed to the new age thinking of eastern gurus that it has not only permeated the healthfood industry but spread to other aspects of American culture as well. Vishal Mangalwadi is a thought provoking intellectual from India who provides a sharp contrast to new age ideas as in The New Age Grows Old. See more from this this refreshing, stimulating communicator.

C. S. Lewis Foundation
C S Lewis    My husband and I have been blessed to observe the development of the C. S. Lewis foundation and to enjoy an acquaintance with Dr. Stanley Matson, founder and president, as the Kilns have been restored and the Oxbridge Conferences expand.  My husband has been reading Lewis for 50 years.  I've read all of the Narnia Chronicles to our children multiple times. We took an 8 year old girl and her mother to the first American screening of The Chronicles of Narnia. What a delight to observe her response.  See: www.cslewis.org/

We're indebted to Michael Phillips for editing and bringing George MacDonald's works to life for modern audiences. MacDonald is the master of his character development and dialog. To read one of his books is to embark on a spiritual journey gaining insight into how the human heart responds to the God of the scriptures.  George MacDonald is Lewis's spiritual and literary mentor who Lewis acknowledges in  The Great Divorce.  When our youngest daughter was studying in the UK Sue took the opportunity to visit  Huntly, Scotland,  MacDonald's birthplace. We make it a point to be reading one of MacDonald's novels on an ongoing basis aloud almost every evening.  See: /www.macdonaldphillips.com/

The Gospel of John The Film We were impressed. Really! As amateur film buffs we were mesmerized by the superb action. In fact much of the story is conveyed by expression, a turn of the head, through the actors' eyes, and not simply through dialog. Of course, the scenes that caught our attention were the food events--wedding wine, woman who thought she might get indoor plumbing (a river of life, instead), catering to a crowd, listening and serving with Mary and Martha, and the big fish catching beach breakfast finale.  We plan to get the DVD and show excerpts in our Taste & Tell Workshops. See www.gospelofjohnthefilm.com

The Scroll of Biblical Chronology and Prophecy This manual charts every single B.C./A.D. year from creation to the present, the year of the world, and every sabbatical and Jubilee year.  The span of every ruler, king, judge, era, both historic and prophetic is fully explained. Every link in the chronological timeline is matched on a year by year basis with a full quotation of its supporting biblical text.
