The ambiance at this "better"
of the two Mexican restaurants in Tallinn provided an adequate
conversation setting for our hostess, Mary Lou Duke, and Sue. The food
and the service, alas, were another case. Neither Tex-Mex nor Southern
California Mexican Style, the Estonian interpretation of Mexican fare
omitted the customary hot salsa with the chips and dollop of guacamole
and sour cream with the main course. The salad appeared to be more Russian than Mexican influence. When you request salsa (every
reputable Mexican restaurant has at least three different selections)
and are served Tabasco sauce, you know that you are a long, long way
from Guadalajara, Carlos. |
